ING home loans can be split, and Orange Advantage adds an offset through Orange Everyday. Here is what ING's own website and terms say, and what to check before you recycle.
ING does not publish debt recycling guidance, but its terms allow more than one loan under a contract, each with its own account.
Only Orange Advantage has an offset, through one linked Orange Everyday account per loan account.
Orange Advantage and Mortgage Simplifier include redraw, while fixed rate loans have no offset and no redraw during the fixed period.
An ING fixed rate that ends without instructions moves to Mortgage Simplifier, which has no offset.
We confirm ING's current policy on splits, loan purpose and redraw limits before any application.
Can You Debt Recycle With ING
Often, yes, if your loan is variable and can be split. ING does not publish guidance on debt recycling, so the answer comes from its product pages and home loan terms.
ING's home loan terms (December 2025) say that where you have more than one loan under a contract, each loan has its own account and interest is calculated on that loan's balance. Keeping investment borrowing in its own account is the core idea in our debt recycling guide.
The separation matters for tax. The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) says only interest incurred for an income-producing purpose is deductible, and borrowing used for mixed purposes must be apportioned.
Debt Recycling Loans is not affiliated with ING. ING is one of 40+ lenders on our panel. Lender policy changes, so we confirm ING's current policy before any application.
How ING's Loans Fit
ING's comparison page sets out three home loan types. According to ING's website (November 2026), they differ on the two features recycling uses most: offset and redraw.
Loan
Offset
Redraw
Fees
Orange Advantage
100% offset through a linked Orange Everyday account
Unlimited redraws
$299 annual fee
Mortgage Simplifier
Not offered
Free redraw
No monthly or annual fees
Fixed Rate Loan
Not available
Not available during the fixed period
Break costs may apply
A workable setup keeps the home borrowing on a variable loan with the offset, and puts investment borrowing in its own variable split with redraw. We set out how we structure the splits for your loan.
One Offset Per Loan Account
ING's terms say only one Orange Everyday account may be linked to a loan account for offset. A change notice in the terms adds that from 15 December 2026, an Orange Everyday account may only be linked to one loan account, held in the same names.
Link it to the home loan account. Cash offsetting the investment split would reduce interest you could otherwise claim, as explained in debt recycling vs offset account.
Redraw and Transfer Limits
ING's terms say redraw can be paid by bank cheque or by online transfer, subject to withdrawal limits. A large redraw for an investment may need a higher daily limit arranged before you need the funds.
Paying the redrawn amount straight to the investment keeps a clean record of what the borrowing was used for.
Fixed Rate Expiry
ING's website says it writes to you 30 days before a fixed rate ends. If you take no action, the loan moves to Mortgage Simplifier, which has redraw but no offset.
If a fixed portion holds home borrowing, decide before expiry whether it should move to Orange Advantage so an offset can sit against it.
Checks Before You Start
Check these points on your current ING loan before any funds move.
Which product each part of your loan is on: Orange Advantage, Mortgage Simplifier or fixed.
Which loan account your Orange Everyday offset is linked to.
How a new split is added. ING takes changes through its online home loan variation selector, and joint borrowers must all sign the request.
Fees for the change. ING's Orange Advantage page lists no variation fees, while noting discharge and other fees may still apply.
Loan purpose. ING's terms let you request a change from owner occupier to investor purpose, but ING must agree, and a change on a fixed loan can trigger break costs.
Fixed repayment limits. On a fixed loan, extra repayments of $10,000 or more in a year can incur fees.
Interest-only plans. ING lists a minimum of $150,000 in total borrowings for interest-only repayments.
Staying With ING or Refinancing
If your ING loan is variable and the offset already sits against your home borrowing, adding an investment split may be all you need. ING's website lists splitting as a change you can request on an existing loan, and borrowing more is subject to eligibility and credit approval.
A move is worth costing when the structure you need isn't available on your ING loan, or ING won't approve the borrowing your plan needs. Our page on refinancing for debt recycling sets out the costs to weigh.
How We Help With ING
We compare 40+ lenders, including ING. We start with your current ING loan: each account, its product and rate type, where the offset sits and what each part has been used for.
From there we map the splits and confirm with ING how it would set up an investment split today. You can read about how Alex works with clients before a first call.
We arrange the lending only. Your financial adviser recommends investments and your accountant advises on tax, and we work alongside both.
The Bottom Line
ING's loans can support debt recycling when the home borrowing and the investment borrowing sit in separate variable accounts. The Orange Everyday offset links to one loan account, so it belongs on the home portion.
Fixed portions, transfer limits and loan purpose are the points to settle before any funds move, and we confirm each against ING's current policy.
Check Your ING Loan Structure
Send us your ING loan details and we will show you how the splits and offset could be arranged.
