We structure debt recycling loans for Perth homeowners by phone and video. We have no Perth office, so every call is booked in Perth time and documents move by email.
We work with Perth homeowners by phone and video from our only office, in Coorparoo, Brisbane.
Perth is two hours behind Brisbane all year, because neither state uses daylight saving.
Interest deductibility is set by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), so the same rules apply in Perth as in Brisbane.
Recycling into a Western Australian investment property can bring land tax and transfer duty, both handled by RevenueWA.
We arrange the lending. Your financial adviser recommends investments and your tax agent confirms deductibility.
Working With Us From Perth
Debt Recycling Loans is powered by Kingfisher Finance Group, a Brisbane mortgage brokerage founded by Alex Gee. We do not have a Perth office. We work with Perth homeowners by phone and video, and in-person meetings are at our only office, 82 Leicester Street, Coorparoo, by appointment.
New to the strategy? Our guide to how debt recycling works covers the basics. In short, you gradually swap non-deductible home loan debt for investment debt, held in its own loan split.
Interest deductibility is an ATO matter, so the rules are the same in Perth as in Brisbane. Only interest on borrowing used for an income-producing purpose is deductible. If a loan is used partly for private spending, the interest has to be apportioned between the two purposes.
Booking Calls From Perth
Perth is two hours behind Brisbane. Neither Western Australia (WA) nor Queensland uses daylight saving, so the gap stays at two hours all year.

Homeowners Across Perth
We can help homeowners anywhere in greater Perth, including the Joondalup, Stirling, Subiaco, Fremantle, Melville, Canning, Swan and Rockingham council areas.
Whether debt recycling suits you depends on your equity, income, tax rate, cashflow and time horizon, not your postcode. We make no assumptions about property values or growth in any area.
The first conversation covers your goals, current loan, income and savings, plus what you want the lending to do over the next few years.
Your Current Lender First
Before suggesting a move, we check whether your existing loan can hold a separate investment split. Our panel of more than 40 lenders includes Bankwest and Commonwealth Bank.
Bankwest began in 1895 as the Agricultural Bank of Western Australia and is now a division of Commonwealth Bank. Whichever lender you are with, the test is the same: can the loan keep investment borrowing apart from private borrowing?
If it cannot, we compare staying with moving and set out the costs of each path before you commit. See what working with Alex involves at every stage, from the first call to settlement.
Buying Property in WA
Some people put an investment split toward a property rather than shares. If that property is in WA, state taxes come into play in addition to the lending, and RevenueWA handles them.
Transfer duty: charged on transfers of real estate, and generally paid by the buyer.
Land tax: assessed on the land you own at midnight 30 June, other than the home you live in.
Metropolitan region improvement tax (MRIT): can be charged in addition to land tax for property in the Perth metropolitan area.
Thresholds and rates change, so check RevenueWA's current figures with your accountant before you buy. Our page on debt recycling with an investment property explains how the loan side is set up.
Your Perth Advisers and Us
Three roles keep debt recycling on track, and each stays with the right person:
We arrange the lending: the lender, the splits and the paperwork through to settlement.
Your financial adviser recommends what to invest in.
Your registered tax agent confirms what is deductible and how to keep records.
We coordinate with your accountant and adviser by phone and email, wherever they are based. To see the split and redraw rules we build in, read how we structure a debt recycling loan.
The Bottom Line
Debt recycling from Perth follows the same ATO rules as anywhere in Australia. What changes is the clock, and the state taxes if your split buys WA property. Book a free call at a Perth time that suits, and you will come away knowing whether the lending side looks workable and what happens next.
Talk It Through in Perth Time
Request a free, no-obligation call and tell us the Perth times that suit you.
Calls are booked in Perth time. Perth is two hours behind Brisbane all year, so a 10 am call in Perth is noon at our Coorparoo office.
The income tax rules are the same, because the ATO sets them nationally. What differs are state taxes such as land tax and transfer duty, which matter if your investment split buys property.
RevenueWA handles transfer duty on the purchase and land tax on land other than your home. Property in the Perth metropolitan area can also attract metropolitan region improvement tax.
Possibly. Bankwest is on our panel, and we check whether your current loan can hold a separate investment split before suggesting any change.
Within one business day of your request, by phone or video. Tell us the Perth times that suit you when you ask.
No. RevenueWA describes it as imposed on property in the Perth metropolitan area, in addition to land tax. Land elsewhere in WA can still attract land tax.
General information only, not financial, tax or legal advice. We are mortgage brokers and arrange lending; we do not recommend specific investments. Lender policy changes over time and is confirmed before any application. Debt recycling is a leveraged strategy that uses your home as security and can amplify losses. Any figures shown are illustrative, based on stated assumptions, and not a promise of any result. Consider your circumstances and seek advice from a licensed broker, financial adviser and registered tax agent.
1. Arranged a loan when our small business situation made it difficult to qualify. 2. Met requirements to have funding available by a specified date. 3. Understood my needs to setup debt recycling to allow tax structuring. 4. Communicated well throughout.
I would use their services again.
