About This Checklist

Debt recycling runs for years, and each further amount should follow a fresh review. Our guide to debt recycling step by step sets that review at least annually, and sooner if your income changes, you take leave, a fixed rate ends or you plan to move.

The checklist splits the review by who owns each part. We check the lending, your tax agent checks the tax position and your financial adviser checks the investments.

A higher valuation is not by itself a reason to borrow again. Any further step needs to fit your budget and the agreed plan.

What Is Inside

How To Use It

  1. Pick a fixed date each year, such as after your tax return is lodged.
  2. Work through each section and tick what is still true.
  3. Note anything unticked and who owns it: broker, tax agent or adviser.
  4. Agree the next cycle only once every section is clear.

Alex can look at how your loan is set up and tell you what would need to change. Free, no-obligation call, by phone or video.

Frequently Asked Questions

Review sooner when your income changes, you take parental leave, a fixed rate or interest-only term is ending, or you plan to sell or move. Each one changes what a lender will approve, and options are easier to arrange while your income still supports them.

Not by itself. Equity is only part of the picture. A further cycle needs to fit your budget, your buffer and the plan agreed with your adviser, and any new lending is assessed on your income and the lender's policy at the time.

Alex, Jess and the Kingfisher team were second to none and their process from start to finish was faultless. As a self-employed business owner, it can be difficult to obtain finance at the best of times. The Kingfisher team made this an easy and efficient proposition and their continued transparent and efficient communication ensured we were kept up to date at all times.
